About Río Encantado Trip
Río Encantado Natural Reserve is Puerto Rico's newest protected wilderness area with over 13Km of continuous underground river system. Our trip takes us to Cueva Yuyú, one of the caves of Río Encantado's underground system, located in the limestone region of Ciales.
Cueva Yuyú exploration begins with a hike through some of the most impressive sceneries of the valleys and hills "mogotes" characteristic of the northern karst region of the Island. The group will immerse in the tropical forest to admire the beauty of the region's flora and fauna. Walking through river canyons, the group will be guided to the entrance of the cave. While underground, participants will climb a 25' waterfall, swim along the river's passages and pools, squeeze through cracks and crevasses, and boulder through large cathedral like halls in search of bat colonies. Lunch time will be spent inside the cave! Our journey ends with a energizing hike back to the staging area.
Cost: $75.00 per participant
